GlobalSign Expands Sales and Support to German-speaking Market

Offers dedicated direct online presence, sales and support services to the German-speaking market.

GlobalSign, a Certification Authority and specialist in SSL Partner Programs, today announced the establishment of a direct presence in the German market with the launch of a new dedicated website (www.globalsign.de) supported by local German sales & technical support representatives. The company says that German-speaking customers will now have easy access to its Digital Certificate solutions, via an easy-to-use ordering system in localized language, as well as native sales and support services.

It explains that despite the global economic situation, Germany is experiencing significant growth in e-commerce and online consumer spending, which in turn is leading to increased levels of threats from phishing attacks and online fraud. SSL is a critical tool in online security and by encrypting data transmitted over the Internet, it ensures it remains secure and protected from prying eyes. Boosted by an increasing demand, the German SSL market is currently the fourth largest in the world (www.netcraft.com). The company's direct presence in this market will enable SSL security to become increasingly accessible, also ensuring that local, international and industry-specific regulations on data privacy, security and integrity can be met hassle-free.

The company further explains that all levels of personal information are sensitive and should therefore be secured when used online, including credit card transactions, customer logins, newsletter signups, to name but a few. It will be offering its full range of SSL Certificates in the DACH region via the new direct presence. Its SSL products include fast issuance Domain SSL, Organization Validated SSL and the most advanced Extended Validated (EV) SSL Certificates, which activate the green address bar in new browsers. All SSL Certificates offered by the company are cost-effective and inclusive of numerous security benefits, such as free SGC and unlimited server licensing and are issued from the company's 2048 bit Certificate Authority Root.

It states that to date, its solutions have been available to German speaking customers primarily through the company's local Preferred Partner WIS (formerly trading under the name of GlobalSign Department Germany). In its capacity as a Preferred Partner, WIS will continue to grow its customer base and support customers via its https://globalsign.wis.de website, with the direct presence of the company now adding greatly to marketing efforts for the GlobalSign brand in the DACH region. Its other Digital Certificate solutions will also be available from the new website, including Managed SSL for enterprises with multiple SSL Certificate requirements, Code Signing Certificates, Client Certificates for secure email and Microsoft Office document security, as well as Adobe PDF document signing. The company's latest move will further provide the German market with an exclusive 'one-stop shop' for all its PKI requirements.

"Providing local language support for the DACH region is an exciting development for the GlobalSign brand and strengthens our overall position in the European SSL market," said Paul Tourret, Managing Director, GlobalSign EMEA. "We aim to ensure a simplified customer experience and the new website, accompanied with dedicated native sales and support will enable us to achieve this. GlobalSign hopes to gain a substantial new customer base by providing highly trusted and cost-effective solutions and we look forward to growing awareness of our market leading solutions as well as welcoming on board new Enterprise customers and Channel partners."
