American Internet Services will deploy a Nirvanix Hybrid Cloud Storage Solution at its carrier-class San Diego data center.
Nirvanix, an enterprise cloud storage service provider, today announced that American Internet Services (AIS), a provider of enterprise-class data center services, will deploy a Nirvanix Hybrid Cloud Storage Solution at its carrier-class San Diego Data Center. It avers that under the terms of the OEM agreement, AIS will offer AIS e-CloudArchive, powered by the company, to its customer base of Fortune 500 companies. This pact expands the company's addressable market and provides AIS with enterprise-grade cloud storage, positioning both companies for increased market share capture. It is the only company currently offering hybrid, public and private enterprise cloud storage solutions that owns all the associated cloud IP and services.
The company mentions that Nirvanix Hybrid Cloud Storage is a private, local instantiation of a cloud storage node on AIS' data center premises that also can access and replicate to the seven other nodes that comprise the Nirvanix Cloud Storage Network - for additional capacity, bandwidth and enhanced availability. The Hybrid node will be fully managed as a service by the company, and clients of AIS will only pay for storage that they actually consume, in a true pay-as-you-go usage model.
It states that with the company's second generation cloud storage solution, AIS will be able to offer its clients enterprise-grade cloud storage designed from the ground up for five nines of data availability and capable of supporting millions of users, billions of objects and exabytes of data. Its secure, highly granular multi-tenancy enables AIS customers to create a subaccount for each branch office, equip each office with its own username and password, and provide clear direction on where in the Cloud Storage Network the data is to reside.
"The business agility and superior economics of cloud storage will now be accessible to an even broader base of customers as AIS stakes its position in the enterprise cloud," said Scott Genereux, President and CEO of Nirvanix. "The combination of Nirvanix's cloud storage and AIS' enterprise-class, data center and connectivity services provides customers with a material competitive advantage over other offerings in the market place."
"Our customers have been requesting an enterprise-class cloud storage service for their business-critical data archival requirements," said Tim Caulfield, CEO of AIS. "With AIS e-CloudArchive, powered by Nirvanix, we are bringing our customers the industry's leading solution for cloud storage at the enterprise level and broadening our overall portfolio of managed services."
"This is an extension of an enterprise-class platform inside of your enterprise walls where it can be securely partitioned in any way desired, talk to other private nodes anywhere you deploy them, yet still integrate with the total Nirvanix Cloud Storage Network anytime you have data to move or distribute around the world to one of their globally distributed points of presence," said Jeff Boles, Senior Analyst, Taneja Group. "It's a bit like dropping petabytes of capacity and eight whole data centers right into your own data center by way of only a 1/2 rack of equipment."
