InfoRelay Named One of the Fastest-Growing Companies in the US

Company attributes ranking to increased demand for reliable IT solutions.

InfoRelay Online Systems, Inc., an enterprise data center services provider, recently announced that Inc. Magazine recently included the company on its Inc. 5,000 list for 2011 - an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing privately held companies. Companies on the Inc. 500 list are ranked according to their three-year percentage growth of their annual revenue. The company will be honored along with other top Inc. 500 companies at the Inc. 5,000 conference in Washington DC, September 22 - 24, 2011.

The company explains that it has strategically expanded its data center footprint nationwide, with a special focus on the Northern Virginia area. Due to continuing demand for data center space and bandwidth in the Washington, DC metro area, its management team expressed expectations of continued strong growth in the near term. Northern Virginia's historic status as a key intersection for communications networks and close proximity to Washington, D.C. makes it one of the strongest data center markets in the U.S. Due to increased dependence on e-commerce and internet-based communications, demand for fully redundant cloud e-mail hosting and web hosting has grown. This, combined with additional demand for high-availability data center space has fueled the growth of many colocation and managed service providers, including the company.

It has distinguished itself by achieving a 3-year growth level of 96% and a top ranking of #305 within the IT Services industry. "In addition to offering robust colocation, public and private cloud hosting, and dedicated server solutions, one of the main catalysts that has driven our growth has been our ability to save companies money by providing them with 24/7 senior-level IT and server administration services for a fraction of the cost of hiring and managing staff internally," stated Russell Weiss, President of InfoRelay.

"Being added to Inc.'s list of the fastest growing companies further validates the market demand for efficient and reliable information technology services as well at outstanding customer support," stated Weiss. "It's a gratifying milestone for our company. I have each one of our hard-working employees to thank for our success."

Since Q1 2011, the company has increased its overall workforce by 22% due to the rising demand for 24x7 systems and network support. Jackson Hou, Account Executive with InfoRelay stated, "Our success is based upon the success of our clients. Because our clients rely so heavily on our network and on our staff, we've invested in the best systems, network providers and engineering talent."

iWeb Launches Smart Groups

Company introduces third enterprise level security service for Smart Servers.

iWeb.com, a provider of internet hosting services and IT infrastructure, recently announced a new feature for Smart Servers: Smart Groups. Smart Group is a private virtual LAN service for all the Smart Servers in a client's account and is completely dedicated to that account.

The company avers that servers within a group can communicate while remaining invisible to other clients' servers connected to the same local network, like a private rack. The Smart Servers share information via a local link, which increases the security of the servers. Furthermore, local bandwidth is unlimited with the SuperSmart package. Smart Group joins the Smart Firewall and Backup Service features launched earlier this year.

It says that the installation of Smart Firewall, Smart Group or Backup Service is immediate and requires no downtime on the clients' server. Complete control of these features is provided through the Control Center, the management console for Smart Servers. Smart Groups and Smart Firewall are included in the SuperSmart package offered at USD 20 per month. The Smart Backup Service, based on R1Soft products, is available starting at USD 15 per month.

"The availability of these three features makes Smart Servers a safe and solid solution for businesses of any size," said Martin Leclair, President, Product and Technology, at iWeb. RES Software Partners with Intel

Company provides management and automation solutions for Intel-powered intelligent clients and desktop virtualization.

RES Software, a provider of dynamic desktop solutions, today announced its collaboration with Intel's Intelligent Desktop Virtualization initiatives as well as its Cloud Builders program.

The company explains that as more companies look to the cloud for hosted desktop solutions, it has become increasingly clear that one size does not fit all when considering enterprise client computing architectures. With hosted desktops, the user experience is often compromised because of network bandwidth and latency challenges that could be avoided by utilizing the local computing resources of an intelligent PC. RES Virtual Desktop Extender (VDX) offers a balanced solution for delivering an uncompromised user experience in VDI deployments, with some applications and services running on the PC and others in the data center. The newly published reference architecture highlights test results of VDX running on PCs with Intel Core processors and demonstrates clear performance benefits over a data center-only approach.

It states that RES Virtual Desktop Extender (VDX) gives desktop administrators the unique ability to enhance remotely hosted virtual desktops with applications and services that run locally on the PC, making use of the underlying processing power, graphic capabilities and peripherals of the PC. Using VDX, local applications and services are seamlessly displayed in remote virtual desktops. The solution enables IT to deliver a single workspace for end-users while optimizing local computing resources on a per application basis. In addition to better performance, end-users also experience increased productivity, as they no longer need to toggle between their virtual sessions and local desktops.

Jeff Fisher, VP Business Development at RES Software commented, "While cloud-based solutions are still growing and adapting to the needs of today's demanding users, a wholesale move to a cloud-hosted desktop environment is impractical, especially because it ignores increasingly capable rich PCs. Solutions like RES VDX enable organizations to run suitable applications and services on cloud-hosted desktops and others on intelligent PCs so they can achieve increased manageability and flexibility without compromising performance and the user experience. Combining RES Software with Intel's Intelligent Desktop Virtualization framework provides IT departments with a hybrid model for desktop delivery, automation and management."

"RES VDX is a clear example of how balanced investment in cloud-based virtual desktops and in intelligent clients powered by second generation Intel Core vPro processors enables enterprises to achieve maximum benefits," said Dr. Chuck Brown, Director of the Intel Emerging Compute Laboratory. "Merging the advantages of centralized management with the compelling capabilities and performance of an intelligent PC ensures the best IT efficiency and user experience."

GlobalSign Partners with Parallels

Partnership enables the company to offer its automated SSL delivery and installation technology, OneClickSSL, via the Parallels Storefront.

GlobalSign, a Certification Authority (CA) and provider of SSL Partner Programs, yesterday announced that it has partnered with Parallels, a provider of virtualization and automation software, to offer its automated SSL delivery and installation technology, OneClickSSL, via the Parallels Storefront. The company claims that OneClickSSL via Storefront will allow Plesk 10 users to resell fully automated SSL - opening up new revenue opportunities and greatly reducing hosting support costs. For users that employ SSL for their own websites, OneClickSSL automates the traditional SSL lifecycle, reducing management costs and making use of SSL simpler and faster.

It says that with OneClickSSL, Plesk users simply activate SSL for their website by purchasing a Secure Site voucher, which can be purchased directly from the company or through partnering hosting companies. Customers then redeem the Secure Site voucher via the OneClickSSL plug-in integrated with Parallels Plesk. Redemption of the voucher simply involves the entry of the voucher code and a click of the Activate SSL button; the rest of the process is transparent.

The company states that the OneClickSSL plug-in automatically creates the cryptographic keys, the Certificate Signing Request (CSR), validates the control of the domain, installs the issued certificate and binds it to the appropriate website, all within 45 seconds, thus eliminating the SSL support overhead for the website owner or hosting company. OneClickSSL rewrites the SSL paradigm by moving away from the traditional, long-winded and error prone process of SSL provisioning and replaces it with an automated 'click to Activate SSL' workflow easily understood by customers of all technical abilities.

It avers that OneClickSSL is now available via the Parallels Storefront for Plesk 10 and from the company's Parallels microsite at http://www.globalsign.com/ssl/oneclickssl/parallels/ for previous versions of Plesk. Customers interested in using OneClickSSL via Parallels Plesk can simply purchase a Secure Site voucher from the company at http://www.globalsign.com/ssl/oneclickssl/storefront. Hosting companies interested in offering OneClickSSL via the Parallels platform to their customer base can become a company partner by contacting it at http://www.globalsign.com/partners/.

"OneClickSSL will allow Parallels' thousands of hosting customers and SME end users direct access to automation technology to secure their websites in only seconds."

Fasthosts Unveils Scaled-up Hosting Packages

Company offers latest hosting range at half price for 12 months.

Fasthosts Internet Ltd, a web hosting provider, today revealed enhancements to its shared web hosting which results in greatly scaled-up packages across the range. From today, key technical allowances, databases and applications as well as the email platform provided have all been enhanced. Whilst web hosts will frequently adjust their quotas, the company has implemented high-value upgrades specifically designed for businesses and IT professionals to optimize elements that will deliver most impact to their online success.

It claims that as the use of hosted solutions by UK firms continues to grow apace, the company has launched a scaled-up shared web hosting range intended to make a real difference to the effectiveness of the web for business users. It has increased web space by up to four times the amount in order to better enable firms to upload additional content to their websites and create a richer online experience. The introduction of unlimited web space to the flagship Business Premium package means that larger scale web projects can grow without any limitation.

The company articulates that for businesses and professional users alike, MySQL databases have also been identified and scaled-up as a key feature. MySQL databases allow a user to store and search data held within tables (such as product specs, customers, orders, blogs etc). With access to an increased number of inclusive databases, the company's customers are able to hold large amounts of data for multiple websites. A significant boost in FTP accounts allows all types of website owner the ability to effectively upload material to many more web pages across their web space.

It explains that the issue of online visibility is an everyday challenge for all website owners from professional web designers to personal bloggers. A study this year of nearly 500 small firms commissioned by the company found that 1 in 3 small businesses are stressed by their online visibility. However, a remarkable 41 per cent of firms are currently unable to optimize their positions within search engines. From a professional perspective, a further study of 300 web designers revealed that dissatisfaction with search engine positions is the biggest pain-point for their small business customers, with 49 per cent of web design firms receiving related complaints. With this in mind, the company has added its latest TrafficDriver SEO tool to the majority of its hosting packages. TrafficDriver SEO enhances online visibility by submitting a business website to hundreds of search engines worldwide and effectively managing meta tags and monthly submissions. The solution also generates detailed monthly reports that can provide excellent insights when defining an online marketing strategy.

The company further explains that a critical issue for businesses is the effective use of email communication. It has enhanced the inclusive email platform for its hosting customers. Microsoft Exchange 2010 is now standard on all packages, and delivers the very latest functionality for email and can improve productivity with shared calendars, tasks and contacts accessible from any computer. With the use of an efficient mobile email system, firms are better placed to raise efficiencies and provide better response times for handling customer inquiries.

According to it, its new scaled-up 2011 range of Personal Hosting packages comprises of the Standard package (15 GB web space), which is currently half price for 12 months from GBP 2.49/month+VAT, and the Premium package (100 GB web space) currently priced from GBP 4.49/month+VAT. From today, the Personal Standard package features 1 MySQL database, 5 FTP accounts, MS Exchange 2010 email and free SiteBuilder tool. The Personal Premium package now offers 1 free .UK domain, 50 FTP accounts, 25 page SiteBuilder, MS Exchange 2010 email and TrafficDriver SEO. The company's new Business Hosting packages, also currently half price for 12 months, are the Business Standard package (now 100 GB), priced from GBP 4.49/month+VAT, and Business Premium package (unlimited web space), priced from GBP 7.99/month+VAT. As well as 50 FTP accounts and TrafficDriver, the Business Standard also benefits from GBP 105 of Google Ad Vouchers.

The company states that the new flagship Business Premium offers advanced functionality and robust performance ideal for the web professional. The package now offers the freedom of unlimited web space and FTP accounts, up to 10 MySQL databases and TrafficDriver SEO High - an advanced version which guarantees a Google listing for 12 months and submission to 400 search engines. The package also features Load Balancing - which shares visitors over multiple web servers to maximize the uptime and speed of a website. All hosting solutions offered by the company are available in either Linux or Windows configurations at no additional cost, and feature free set-up, unlimited bandwidth, 24/7 customer support and virus and spam protection for email.

Stephen Holford, Marketing Director, Fasthosts Internet, said, "Our new scaled-up shared hosting range shows our approach to encouraging business users to leverage the best hosted technologies available to them. By providing them with more resources, Fasthosts aims to support firms in constantly evolving their online activities. The high-end quality of our Premium web hosting continues to reflect why Fasthosts is often the IT professional's choice."

Neutral Tandem Launches HD Voice Interconnect

8x8 selects the company for its broad HD Voice routing footprint.

Neutral Tandem, Inc., a provider of interconnection services, today announced the launch of HD Voice Interconnect. According to the company, its HD Voice service is a High Definition wideband voice interconnection solution for the competitive carrier market. The company solves the problem of non-interconnected 'islands of HD' by providing easy access to other HD carriers interconnected with it, and adds incremental value to carrier investments in IP networks and Voice over IP (VoIP) services. The service has been successfully interconnected with 8x8, Inc., a provider of business communications solutions, who announced its own ability to deliver HD Calling to business phone service subscribers in January 2010.

It states that the service is aimed at providing carriers and service providers, poised to launch wideband calling services, the opportunity to efficiently route HD Voice calls between competitive carriers and hosted Voice Application Providers. HD Voice provides increased call clarity, meaning that conference call users can better understand other speakers and enhanced applications like IVR, speech recognition and transcription systems work with greater accuracy. The service requires a SIP interconnect that routes HD Voice across the company's network that is capable of terminating calls to over 550M telephony end points, and offers completion for any call regardless of whether the terminating party can terminate wideband voice.

The company further states that its HD Voice service is readily accessible to any carrier with HD Voice traffic. It is unique in that it provides a bridge to connect between carriers and across markets. Furthermore, the solution does not require an ENUM registry, where numbers have to be uploaded by each carrier and 'dipped' at call set up. Due to the private nature of the service, customers simply route calls to the company and if the terminating carrier supports HD Voice, it is completed as such; otherwise, the call is completed on its extensive global voice network.

It articulates that its HD Voice solution is designed to provide the carrier market a broad High Definition footprint to terminate quality voice traffic to mobile and wireline carriers. The service offers improved quality and low latency voice termination across its entire private SIP-based network. HD Voice is a seamless service to the company's existing voice termination platform that manages over 11 billion minutes a month.

"We are excited to provide a comprehensive HD Voice solution to support carriers deploying wideband voice technology," commented Surendra Saboo, COO of Neutral Tandem. "We have designed our solution to be straightforward, without requiring complex routing tables or special number provisioning. We look forward to speaking with other carriers and service providers who are planning wideband voice deployments regarding testing and interconnecting to our HD Voice service, to maximize the value for their customers."

"As a proven leader in offering HD interconnection solutions for service providers, Neutral Tandem's solution makes it easy for us to provide the enhanced audio fidelity required by our subscribers and completes the calls across its all-IP network," commented Bryan Martin, Chairman and CEO of 8x8. "They simplify the delivery of high-quality voice solutions end-to-end, and with their 'off-net' routing capabilities, there's no need to create multiple HD peering relationships or routing configurations with numerous carriers, they do it all."

Continuous offsite application availability and recovery offering leverages EMC's RecoverPoint software and VMware's Site Recovery Manager.

The company avers that the SAN data replication service meets the needs of customers seeking a solution for disaster recovery, while providing cost-effective business continuity and application recovery. SAN2SAN Replication leverages EMC's RecoverPoint software and VMware's Site Recovery Manager to deliver enterprise-class offsite data protection and disaster recovery.

The company manages all of the components of the solution, enabling a customer to build, test, and protect their organization with a comprehensive and highly automated recovery plan. SAN2SAN Replication protects organizations from data loss resulting from clinical disasters, such as a server failure or human error, and catastrophic disasters that can bring a company to a complete standstill.

The company claims that its SAN2SAN Replication service addresses a company's increased burden in meeting government regulations, creating uninterrupted user experiences, and safeguarding against malicious attacks. By introducing an EMC powered cloud-based BCDR (business continuity and disaster recovery) solution, customers will gain immediate access to a highly available, secure, and compliant solution that costs up to 75% less than traditional BCDR deployments.

"Customers are requesting the ability to utilize their existing environment and drive new cost efficiencies in order to achieve offsite data recovery and compliance. Our SAN2SAN Replication solution accomplishes these goals by allowing our customers the ability to use their existing infrastructure, increase performance, and shift disaster recovery spending from a capital expense to an operational expense with minimal infrastructure investment," commented Art Zeile, Hosting.com's CEO.

"EMC is committed to working with our service providers like Hosting.com to deliver trusted, enterprise-class cloud services that allow our mutual customers to choose the right source for every IT workload. Hosting.com's focus on the cloud and backup and recovery marketplaces and its corporate goal of providing customers with an Always On experience compliments EMC's technology and the combination will deliver a comprehensive portfolio of cloud-based business continuity and disaster recovery solutions," said EMC's Dennis Hoffman, Senior Vice President, Service Providers.

OnApp Launches CDN Platform for Hosting Providers

OnApp CDN enables hosts to enter the CDN market without having global CDN infrastructure; federated CDN slashes costs for hosts and their customers.

OnApp, a cloud hosting provider, today announced the launch of OnApp CDN, a fully-featured Content Delivery Network for hosting providers. OnApp CDN provides instant global CDN capabilities for hosts, enabling them to build their own CDN without having to build their own global CDN infrastructure. This enables any hosting provider to enter the CDN market, and paves the way for hosts to offer a new generation of low cost, high performance CDN services that even small businesses can afford.

According to the company, a Content Delivery Network accelerates website performance by ensuring that visitors always get web content sent to them from a local server. Until now, building a CDN has required significant investment in data centers around the world to provide that local capability. OnApp CDN enables hosts to use spare cloud capacity from other hosts to provide local CDN 'points of presence', with a marketplace that makes it easy to buy and sell CDN capacity on demand. This enables hosts to build a global CDN, monetize spare capacity, and launch low cost CDN services with features previously available only to very large enterprises. It adds that at launch, OnApp CDN offers 40 CDN Points of Presence (PoPs) across America, Europe and Asia, placing it firmly in the top five global Content Delivery Networks worldwide. The OnApp CDN platform supports HTTP push, HTTP pull, and streaming/live streaming of online content.

It avers that OnApp CDN has three principal components:

OnApp CDN Stack: Fully-featured CDN edge server software that is deployed by hosting providers, and managed through a user-friendly web interface. OnApp CDN replicates content from an originating website to local edge servers, in order to serve that content to local users.
OnApp CDNaaS (CDN-as-a-Service): A global Anycast DNS service for CDN that is hosted by OnApp at 14 global locations. CDNaaS determines which local edge servers are best suited to deliver content to end users, based on the status of those servers, the user's location and other information.
OnApp CDN Federation: A network of hosting providers offering CDN capacity, and a marketplace through which hosts can buy and sell capacity on demand. Hosts set their own prices for CDN resources, and the marketplace displays key information about the CDN resources (Points of Presence) available, such as bandwidth, location and server specifications.

Hosts can join the CDN Federation even if they do not contribute Points of Presence to the network. This makes it possible for a host to offer CDN services to its customers without owning any CDN infrastructure. The company acts as an intermediary between Federation members, handling charges and payments for CDN resources bought and sold through the marketplace.

The company says that OnApp CDN Stack software is provided free to hosts using OnApp CDN. Hosts using OnApp CDN pay the company a low fee per Terabyte of traffic that flows through the core CDN network (OnApp CDNaaS), and a small percentage of the OnApp CDN Federation marketplace transactions.

OnApp's CEO, Ditlev Bredahl, explained why today's announcement is so significant for the CDN market, hosting providers and anyone that depends on rapid delivery of online content, "The USD 2.6bn CDN market has been in the grip of a handful of vendors for many years. Prices are outrageous at the high end of the market, because providers have to recoup the cost of running a network of global data centers. With OnApp CDN that's no longer the case, which means hosts can bring CDN services to market at a much lower cost than other CDN vendors. At the low end of the market, functionality has been limited to basic website acceleration services. We're making high-end CDN functionality affordable for hosts and their customers, for the first time."

"There's another reason OnApp CDN is significant for hosting customers," he continued. "It means companies that depend on rapid delivery of web content can buy CDN services from the hosting companies they're already doing business with - who understand their business, their current website set-up and can provide support as part of their existing relationship."

OnApp CDN combines software and services from the company and Aflexi, which recently became part of the OnApp family. Whei Wong, who headed Aflexi, will run the company's CDN business and the company's operations in Asia-Pacific from offices in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Commenting on the launch, Whei said, "This is a fantastic opportunity for the hosting industry. There are perhaps 10 or 15 viable CDNs today. As hosts adopt OnApp CDN we expect that number to grow to several hundred in the next couple of years. With greater choice and significantly lower cost for CDN services, that's great news for online retailers, publishers and anyone that relies on high speed delivery of content."

Tim Varma, Vice President, Product Marketing at PEER 1 Hosting, a founder member of the OnApp CDN Federation commented, "Internet businesses need CDN services to quickly serve their customers, wherever they are in the world, and the OnApp CDN allows us to give our customers the global reach to make this happen. It means PEER 1 can bring huge value to our customers' businesses without having to invest in expensive infrastructure. With more POPs available to through the Federation, spanning Asia and Europe, we have the ultimate win-win of giving customers what they want as well as supporting new revenue streams."

CM-AG to Launch New Reseller Edition for CM4all Sites

Company adds comprehensive customization options to its website building solution CM4all Sites.

Content Management AG (CM-AG
), a provider of web-based applications, recently announced that it will unveil its Reseller Edition and new customization options for CM4all Sites at HostingCon 2011. The premier North American conference and trade show for the hosted services industry will be held in San Diego, California, from August 8 to August 10.

The company articulates that after initially being presented to the public at last year's HostingCon, its site building solution has been successfully rolled out in various language versions and markets by OEM partners worldwide. The product, based on a completely revamped CM4all technology and maintaining proven administrative APIs, is available for licensing and has already been deployed in various hardware scenarios ranging from redundant failover solutions to highly scalable cluster solutions in the data centers of OEM partners.

It explains that dedicated to serving leading telcos, MSOs, ISPs and web-hosting companies worldwide, CM4all Sites was developed as a platform solution that can be adapted and customized to each OEM partner's very individual needs. The newly released Reseller Edition provides both increased flexibility in overall product customization and added room for the integration of custom content, such as OEM-specific advertisements and video tutorials. By customizing the pre-defined website categories and their related default content, OEM partners can align the product with specific target groups or vertical markets. By licensing CM4all Sites Reseller Edition, OEM partners with a multi-tier distribution system are also able to create a separate GUI and product setup for each of their resellers from within one central installation.

The company further explains that earlier this year, it introduced Simplified Templates. These templates can be styled with HTML and CSS according to the company's Simplified Template Guide to complement the built-in selection of fully customizable CSS templates. The Simplified Template concept enables its OEM partners and their resellers to easily extend the template database within the product with specific templates for vertical markets or dedicated customer groups, or alternatively to include these templates within a managed service offering.

It claims that these additions are critical for supporting the company's OEM partners in maximizing new business opportunities and fully leveraging up-selling and cross-selling with CM4all Sites. Its widget technology, which allows for convenient drag-and-drop, configuration, and arrangement of all website elements, and the unique WYSIWYG editor, which features superior usability, are already an integral part of every end user account. The built-in widgets range from contact forms through weather forecasts to social media connectivity with Twitter and Facebook. CM4all Sites is designed with an open widget API that allows for continuous development of widgets by the company, OEM partners, and external software engineers.

"After launching the new platform, our focus was clearly on enhancing and extending the proven customization options that our global OEM partners have benefited from over the past ten-plus years. Our new options guarantee that all our OEM partners will benefit, whether they are operating under a single brand, leveraging multiple brands or operating a complex multi-tier distribution system via resellers or channel partners," explained Robert Schovenberg, CEO of CM-AG. "We are truly excited about the future innovations we will launch in the years to come," he added.

The company articulates that the Critical Sites offering drills into the application layer to deliver mission-critical support for clients' most important websites and applications. Critical Sites customers receive access to a suite of performance management tools built to gain real-time visibility of the end user experience. The tools are designed to increase peak application performance and availability so that the customer's infrastructure functions at the optimal level to support the business. According to it, Critical Sites differs from the company's existing services in several ways. A team of web-scale engineers delivers service designed to give deep insights into application performance with scheduled analysis reviews for applications, infrastructure and architectures. In addition, Critical Sites provides customers with a sophisticated set of tools for advanced application and website monitoring and simulated load testing. This mission critical service also features a separate Service Level Agreement (SLA), which includes a five-minute notification of events guarantee and a 100% Production Platform uptime guarantee.

The company says that the Critical Sites service has been available to US-based customers since October last year and customers include Mazda, BlackLine Systems and Hawaiian Airlines who all rely on Critical Sites to keep their mission critical sites up and running. "Today, customers like Mazda and Hawaiian Airlines are asking us to help with their most critical IT infrastructures - including those sites and applications that they have traditionally regarded as too precious to outsource. To address that need, we have created our Critical Sites service offering mission-critical, enterprise-grade hosting."

"BlackLine is responsible for confidential financial data for some of the largest companies in the world," said Mario Spanicciati, Executive Vice President of Operations, BlackLine. "The Rackspace Critical Sites service helps BlackLine deliver a reliable, high performance application to our global client base. The Critical Sites service has successfully extended our team's capabilities and helped us to ensure that our SLAs are met."
