goMobi Now Available via Parallels Platform

Mobile website builder goMobi now available via Parallels platform for web services providers.

dotMobi, the company behind the .MOBI internet domain name for mobile phones and the dev.mobi developer forum, today announced the availability of its cloud-based goMobi service on the Parallels virtualization and automation platform for web services providers. goMobi offers a quick, easy and inexpensive way for businesses to create mobile websites with a great user experience on practically any mobile device.

The company states that with mobile browsing predicted to eclipse desktop traffic by 2014, goMobi brings the power of the mobile web in the form of an easy-to-use web application. Web services providers can offer goMobi directly through their site, and each goMobi account opened is then activated and administered completely via the Parallels platform. goMobi is designed to function as a fully integrated application within Parallels Plesk Panel 10 or directly from dotMobi as an APS application.

It further states that goMobi websites take advantage of the mobile phone's unique capabilities to provide the best possible user experience. Mobile-only features like click to call, mapping, QR codes and integration with social networks as well as location-based services help engage customers and build long-term relationships. As Google recently noted, 61% of users make a call to a local business after using a mobile phone to search for services, and the mobile user experience can directly affect a customer's perception of a business. goMobi also includes device detection so those who access a business' desktop site on a mobile device are seamlessly redirected to the goMobi site, where the experience is tailored to their specific mobile phone.

"dotMobi has taken advantage of the Application Packaging Standard (APS) in making goMobi available to the more than 10,000 web services providers and resellers who use the Parallels' Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model," said Eileen O'Sullivan, Chief Financial and Operating Officer of dotMobi. "As a 'pluggable' APS application, goMobi is available for simple, rapid deployment by web services providers, who can rapidly increase their revenues by helping businesses 'goMobi'."

"goMobi gives thousands of Parallels service providers the opportunity to have an out-of-the-box offering that makes it easy for them to take the offering and upsell, resell or bundle mobile websites to reach billions of mobile web users in the global market today," said John Zanni, VP of Marketing and Alliances at Parallels.
