SunGard Availability Services, a provider of disaster recovery services, yesterday announced that it has expanded its Managed Security Services portfolio with enhanced Log and Threat Management Services designed to defend networks and mission-critical data from security breaches and attacks.

The company avers that internet-based applications have become commonplace even within more traditional brick and mortar organizations. With the uptick in online business transactions however, the business risk associated with electronic threats has also grown, making information security a key concern of IT and business unit leaders. The company has expanded its Managed Security Services to help organizations address these challenges.

It mentions that the Log and Threat Management Services, a part of the company's comprehensive suite of production services, provide customers more choices to help them address compliance requirements and run their business confidently. Log and Threat Management Services are offered through a partnership with Alert Logic:

Alert Logic Threat Manager automatically identifies malicious behavior and questionable network patterns originating both inside and outside of a customer's network.
Alert Logic Log Manager collects and archives log data on events relevant to customers' security while ActiveWatch and LogReview, provide expert human analysis, review and insight on real-time security threats and alerts.
