DiscountASP.NET, a Windows hosting provider, yesterday announced a 30-day free new year promotion for hosted Team Foundation Server (TFS) Basic for up to 5 users. The company adds that the promotion expires at the end of January 2011.
According to it, TFS hosting is a new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution provided by the company for source control and bug tracking which integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 is a collaboration platform that is at the core of Microsoft's application lifecycle management solution. With the company's hosted TFS solution, developers can use familiar Microsoft Visual Studio development tools to manage source control and track issues, whether the developer works alone or in a team.
It mentions that the TFS Basic hosting service starts at $20 per month per user. The TFS account comes with one collection, within which developers can manage unlimited projects. The customer gets access to a TFS control panel to manage their account, billing and TFS users and group members.
"We launched our TFS hosting service late last year and it has been met with enthusiasm. With the new year, we introduce a great promotion to allow more developers to try out a hosted TFS solution without risk," said Takeshi Eto, VP Marketing and Business Development at DiscountASP.NET. "I should note that our TFS hosting solution is a completely separate service, so developers do not need be a DiscountASP.NET web hosting customer to take advantage of hosted TFS," added Takeshi Eto.
