Sarah Haran added, "We recognized that our customers wanted a single portal at their fingertips where they could provision and manage all of their hosting services and stay in contact with us 24/7and that's what we've delivered. WHMCS Billing Platform Integrates GlobalSign's OneClickSSL Technology

Hosting companies using WHMCS can now fully automate SSL reselling through the company's new provisioning system, saving time and support costs.

GlobalSign, a Certification Authority (CA) and provider of SSL Partner Programs, recently announced that its new OneClickSSL technology allowing the automation of SSL reselling, has been integrated into the latest version of WHMCS's billing platform.

The company states that since partnering with WHMCS and initially embedding its SSL reselling module into its platform in 2010, hundreds of hosting providers around the world have benefited from the simplicity of controlling the billing cycle of all hosting products they chose to resell, including the company's SSL Certificates. Over this time, the company and WHMCS have worked closely together in developing the module to incorporate its full range of SSL Certificates, including basic level Domain Validated SSL, to the most advanced Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificates, opening up many new opportunities for its SSL Resellers. Now OneClickSSL has been added, WHMCS offers the complete SSL portfolio offered by the company.

It further states that with OneClickSSL, hosting customers purchase Secure Site Vouchers from their hosting provider. The customer goes on to redeem the voucher via any one of the OneClickSSL plug-ins, (including cPanel, Parallels, Plesk, IIS and Apache), by simply entering the voucher code and clicking 'Activate SSL'. Customers have an SSL secured website in only seconds, reducing the support overhead and overall involvement of the hosting company, generating higher margins from the opportunity reselling SSL has to offer, enabling hosts to focus on their core business. The OneClickSSL module will be included in the next release of WHMCS V4.6 as standard. If users are running on version 4.5 or earlier, the module will need to be installed and can be found at http://www.whmcs.com/globalsignssl.php.

"Making OneClickSSL vouchers available through WHMCS further helps hosts offer SSL security to customers of all technical abilities," said Steve Roylance, Business Development Director, GlobalSign. "The vouchers and plug-ins do all of the technical work, including key generation, creation of Certificate Signing Request, validation of control of domain and installation of SSL Certificate, all within 45 seconds."

"We are always eager to keep up to date with the latest hosting and security technologies and we are proud to be the first billing platform to be able to offer GlobalSign's new OneClickSSL service," said Matthew Pugh, Lead Developer, WHMCS. "Putting WHMCS users ahead of the competition is a key strategy for us and we look forward to integrating future GlobalSign SSL developments in the near future."

And they can provide an experience that's better than ever for their end users in the region."

DemoWolf Acquires DemoDemo.com, iDemos.com

Acquisition enables the company to consolidate its position in the hosting tutorials market.

DemoWolf, a Flash support tutorials provider for web hosting companies, today announced the acquisition of DemoDemo.com, a competitor offering Flash-based support tutorials to hosting companies.

It articulates that starting in 2002, DemoDemo was in fact the first company to offer a 're-branding' service, whereby they created sets (or series) of multiple tutorials for specific hosting applications, and offered to re-brand them for any hosting company that purchased them. Hosting companies would then place these 'branded' Flash tutorials on their websites, usually in their support pages and their clients would have the ability to watch videos showing them how to do common tasks within their hosting control panels. Because these tutorials could be sold many times over, DemoDemo was able to offer them at a substantial discount to what it would normally cost a hosting company to develop them in-house. DemoDemo videos are simple, concise, and to-the-point.

The company mentions that its tutorials are different than DemoDemo's in that they are offered in 'Voice' versions. Flash video tutorials that include professional voice narration for a cleaner more professional experience for the viewer. In addition, it offers all tutorials in Flash, Video (MP4) and Text formats, whereas DemoDemo currently only offers the Flash format.

According to it, the company and DemoDemo will continue to operate as separate business entities. DemoDemo's former owner Vito Ceniti will be providing consulting services to both the company and DemoDemo. In addition to acquiring DemoDemo, the company has also acquired the domain name idemos.com. Specific plans for idemos.com have not yet been disclosed.

"With this acquisition, there's no question we are the dominant player in the hosting tutorials market," said Rob Moore, Founder and President of DemoWolf. "Now we must refocus our efforts to producing newer tutorials so our clients continue to see us as their partners in support, providing tutorials for the latest hosting-related technologies."

"Our focus has been on making quality tutorials, providing superb customer service, and automation," added Rob Moore. "With the introduction of professional voice narration, and developing a tutorial branding system that is completely automated and controlled by our clients, DemoWolf provides additional services that were unavailable to DemoDemo clients, until now."

Utilising Quantix's 'OraCloud' platform, the company will look to manage its international customers' database applications, including Oracle and SQL, as a cloud based service.

According to it, Quantix's expertise lies in managing database applications and their associated infrastructure. Quantix is an Oracle platinum partner. The company plans to build on the rich pool of specialist skills at Quantix's headquarters in Nottingham and turn it into its center of excellence for application management and cloud services development.

Gareth Williams, Interoute CEO, commented, "Our strategy is based around providing customers with a comprehensive portfolio of solutions and services from the Ground (infrastructure and connectivity) to the cloud (fully managed services hosted within the Interoute private cloud). We are focused on service innovation combined with a constant drive for efficiency to bring value to customers and keep ahead of the market. Our enterprise strategy 'Unified ICT' is an approach to creating and managing all enterprise ICT infrastructures as a service, delivered from a secure networking platform."

Commenting on the deal, Quantix's MD, Simon Goodenough said, "We have built a strong and loyal customer base in the UK, which we will continue to serve as usual. By joining forces with Interoute we are now able to take our services across Europe. We believe there is a natural affinity between our offering and Interoute's and we are excited to be part of the journey towards becoming the leading provider of cloud-based services in Europe."

F5 Collaborates with Latisys

Company helps Latisys offer differentiated private cloud and enhanced managed services.

F5 Networks, Inc., a provider of Application Delivery Networking, yesterday announced that Latisys, a colocation and managed hosting provider, is implementing F5 VIPRION Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs) as a foundation of its private cloud and managed hosting solutions.

The company mentions that Latisys provides IT outsourcing - such as data center colocation services, managed hosting, and cloud solutions - from its secure, high-density, Tier III data centers across the United States. The company is enhancing its high availability enterprise-grade managed services offering, which provides security, backup and recovery, storage, compute resources, and load balancing, to achieve service provider-grade performance levels. Through Latisys cloud services, customers will be able to expand their IT infrastructures dynamically to meet sudden increases in demand for computing resources while benefiting from a highly secure, fully redundant platform.

It explains that VIPRION, a chassis-based hardware platform with high-performance modular blades, is the most flexible and scalable ADC on the market. With VIPRION, Latisys can scale on demand to deliver higher levels of throughput and transactions per second without adding more devices, disrupting users or applications, or increasing management costs. Latisys chose the VIPRION 2400 as the cornerstone of its private cloud-based service delivery network. Using this midrange platform, Latisys can intelligently manage CapEx and OpEx while delivering a true pay-as-you-go deployment model for its customers.

The company states that leveraging its existing BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager and Global Traffic Manager deployments, Latisys can use iControl, the company's open application programming interface (API), to dynamically provision additional resources and ensure high availability. iControl enables Latisys' management and orchestration tools to communicate directly with the BIG-IP devices, so application servers can be added to a pool when traffic load increases and removed as traffic volume drops. In addition, Latisys can take advantage of BIG-IP secure sockets layer (SSL) offload capabilities, which decrease server CPU utilization to provide additional cost benefits and resource conservation.

It further states that VIPRION devices also provide Virtual Clustered Multiprocessing (vCMP) technology, which combines virtualization and multi-tenancy capabilities. With vCMP, multiple instances of BIG-IP software can run on one device, so, for example, up to 16 individual BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager instances could run on a single, fully-loaded VIPRION chassis. vCMP enables organizations like Latisys to further maximize data center resources and efficiently manage application delivery services.

"We're thrilled that Latisys is counting on VIPRION and BIG-IP technology to differentiate its new private cloud services," said Jason Needham, Sr. Director of Product Management at F5. "The cloud deployment model is based on the premise of improving IT agility, reliability, and cost-efficiency. With the flexibility and advanced technology that F5 solutions provide, Latisys will be able to scale dynamically to meet customer demand and isolate virtual ADCs to provide each customer with the control they need."

"Serving both enterprises and carriers, we need to ensure that our private cloud resources scale reliably," said Christian Teeft, VP of Engineering at Latisys. "F5's VIPRION is a high performance, cost-effective solution that delivers the on-demand resource provisioning we require."

Before selecting the VIPRION solution, Latisys evaluated application delivery products from competing vendors. "F5 came out on top in all categories, including performance, scale, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Furthermore, we have firsthand experience with the company's superior support team - and F5 is our customers' first choice," said Evans Mullan, Chief Operating Officer at Latisys.

Hostek.com Launches New Linux ColdFusion Hosting Service

Company now offers ColdFusion Linux hosting to customers and hosting resellers.

Hostek.com, a provider of Adobe ColdFusion 9 web hosting and Microsoft ASP.NET web hosting, yesterday announced a competitive new choice of Linux ColdFusion website hosting options. The company claims that by offering customers and resellers this useful alternative to its popular Windows hosting services, it is making it easier than ever to develop rich and exciting new web applications. By adding a selection of ColdFusion 9 Linux hosting services to an already varied and popular choice of Windows ColdFusion plans, the company is now offering a varied service range that is sure to maintain customer satisfaction and encourage future growth.

It explains that ColdFusion Markup Language, or CFML, is a scripting language that uses simple, easily understandable syntax to handle data from a database, and ultimately to display this data to visitors in new and interesting ways. By using ColdFusion Markup Language on a ColdFusion server, developers can create and deploy dynamic, content-rich, and highly interactive web applications. Without the use of a scripting language with the power and versatility of CFML, developers can find their web presences overly static, lacking the true interactivity that defines the online experience. The company launched its range of Windows ColdFusion hosting services in 2002 and has since helped businesses and individuals worldwide to transform their online activity.

The company further explains that the ability of ColdFusion to deliver creative new web applications is consistent regardless of operating system, but it is outside of ColdFusion that the choice of Linux or Windows comes into play. While ColdFusion Windows hosting allows the use of alternative scripting languages such as Microsoft ASP.NET or classic ASP, developers who do not use these facilities may be better suited to a Linux plan. One specific example is the option to use cPanel, one of the most popular website control panels available, which is offered as standard on all Linux ColdFusion 9 hosting plans offered by the company. This feature-rich control panel offers unrivalled control to users of Linux web hosting solutions. In addition, some ColdFusion developers may wish to use other common applications such as Wordpress or osCommerce and, as a matter of preference, choose to do this on Linux.

"We have been offering Windows ColdFusion hosting services for almost ten years, and have been an Adobe Solution Partner since 2009," said Jon Cavanaugh, Director of Business Development at Hostek.com. "Customers have joined and remained with Hostek.com because we truly understand ColdFusion website hosting and work to develop services for ColdFusion. As a result of our ongoing success in this area, we are proud to give our customers and hosting resellers the chance to customize their ColdFusion 9 hosting service with a choice of operating systems."

"ColdFusion hosting is a powerful, versatile way to develop web applications, whatever operating system it is offered on," said Cavanaugh. "Our customers have proven just how vital a dependable, reliable ColdFusion server is in modern web development, and we have seen continued growth in this area of business in recent years. Our decision to launch Linux ColdFusion 9 services comes as a result of ongoing demand for the flexibility of ColdFusion on a Linux server with Linux-specific hosting features and cPanel included as standard."

"At the end of the day, this is a matter of taste," added Cavanaugh. "Some people just prefer to work with Linux rather than Windows. Now, we are adding yet another customization option for every Hostek.com customer and every Hostek.com reseller. We have been consistently serious about our role in ColdFusion hosting and, with this new option to operate on Linux, we remain committed to offering the most competitive ColdFusion hosting services."

Zen Internet Launches Managed Cloud Servers

Company offers businesses of all sizes the opportunity to benefit from cloud-based technology, to work more efficiently and reduce IT costs.

Zen Internet, an internet service provider, today announced that it has launched Managed Cloud Servers, offering businesses of all sizes the opportunity to benefit from cloud-based technology, to work more efficiently and reduce IT costs.

The company states that configured around a business's specific requirements, its Managed Cloud Server delivers optimized resource for its hosted applications and services. This means businesses are better able to align what they pay for with what they need. According to figures from virtualization specialists VMWare, the overall savings of cloud computing can be as high as 50% in capital expenditure, 33% in administration costs and 80% in power and cooling. The company's Managed Cloud Server delivers flexibility and choice, offering scalable options for internet bandwidth, server memory, CPU and data storage. This means it can provide a Cloud Server which is tuned perfectly to a business's hosted applications. There's also flexibility and choice at the operating system level too, with options for both Windows and Linux platforms.

It further states that the company's hosting environment is self-aware and self-healing. If an element of the hosting environment fails, or needs to go into maintenance mode, then it automatically shifts the Cloud Servers to available resources located elsewhere in the resource pool. By protecting against physical host server failure it is able to offer minimum 99.99% availability SLA. As well as ensuring that a business's Cloud Server is available, it also ensures that a server's data is fully recoverable too. Data is backed up on a daily basis and retained for a period of 28 days. In the unlikely event that a server needs rebuilding then the company can do it quickly and comprehensively. The company completes its Managed Cloud Server service by providing operating system support, service monitoring, full data back-up (retained for 28 days) and 24/7 UK based telephone support.

The company mentions that moving applications and services into the cloud places additional demands on networks and connectivity solutions. With a cloud-based service, success depends on the reliability and quality of the connection from the business premises or user to the cloud service. For organizations deploying cloud based solutions it is essential that they work with a good, reliable network services provider, so that customers can ensure that their network is ready for the demands of cloud-based applications. It adds that Superfast Fiber broadband is the key enabling technology for cloud computing. The company's Fiber to the Cabinet (FTTC) fiber-optic broadband is already bringing superfast 'up to 40Mbps' broadband to many of its customers, enabling a wider range of organizations to benefit from bandwidth-intensive, IP-based applications.

"We are delighted to be able to provide this new Managed Cloud Server product. The Managed Cloud Server delivers an unprecedented level of flexibility and choice, whilst being backed up with our award-winning network, service and support. We are committed to expanding our hosting portfolio to meet our customers' requirements and are continually investing in other hosting products and services," said Andrew Saunders, Head of Product Management and Marketing.

"We see Superfast Fiber broadband as the key enabling technology for a whole range of business internet services such as e-commerce, cloud computing, video-conferencing, VoIP and remote working in order to make UK business more productive while minimizing costs. Working with a good, reliable network services provider ensures that a business's network is ready for the demands of cloud-based applications, and optimizes the user experience," added Andrew.

CopperEgg Launches RevealCloud Pro

RevealCloud Pro redefines performance monitoring paradigm with easy-to-use service.

CopperEgg, Corp., a cloud monitoring solutions provider, yesterday announced the launch of RevealCloud Pro, a SaaS-based performance monitoring solution that helps companies accelerate the delivery of applications and services across public and private clouds. Now, DevOps and development teams can gain true real-time performance monitoring of cloud systems so they can isolate and solve critical performance problems before they impact application service delivery. RevealCloud Pro helps companies optimize the health - and revenue potential - of applications built in the cloud by providing instantaneous insights into critical IT and business performance metrics.

The company articulates that today users expect applications to respond instantly. If an application stops responding, even for a few seconds, users or customers go away, likely resulting in lost revenue or productivity. Performance monitoring using RevealCloud Pro provides split-second monitoring of the operating and performance metrics of cloud systems that support critical application services, enabling customers to accelerate time to market during the development phase, optimize deployments as they learn customer usage patterns, and identify early warning signals of service degradation.

It mentions that in contrast with legacy performance monitoring solutions that conduct polling in 1-5 minute intervals, RevealCloud Pro is purpose-built to provide actionable analytics in seconds, or less. The solution leverages rapid deployment; a highly distributed data collection model; the extreme speed and scalability of a NoSQL schema-free database; and real-time visualization with in-depth analytics and alerting. Used by DevOps and Application Developers who are building apps in the cloud, RevealCloud Pro will isolate and solve critical performance problems before they impact application service delivery. RevealCloud Pro is available here with a USD 15 instant credit on a pay for consumption basis.

According to the company, key benefits of RevealCloud Pro include:

Installs in seconds: no configuration required; users just copy and paste a single command into their systems to get immediate cloud monitoring

CWCS Managed Hosting Partners with R1Soft

Company plans to offer fully-managed and self-managed offsite backups featuring R1Soft's Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology for Windows and Linux.

CWCS Managed Hosting, a web hosting company, yesterday announced plans to offer fully-managed and self-managed offsite backups featuring R1Soft's Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology for Windows and Linux.

The company articulates that R1Soft CDP software is unique in its ability to bypass the file system, read data at the sector level, and create point-in-time images. By only recording changes since the last backup during disk sector synchronization, there is no interruption to current server requests. Flexible and robust, R1Soft CDP backups can be instantly deployed, securing the company's clients' critical data in secure, offsite backups. In the unfortunate event of a disaster, R1Soft's high-performance data recovery technology, Bare-Metal Restore (BMR), omits the OS reinstallation step to rapidly restore large file systems. Users will also benefit from the convenience of single file restores that can be performed simultaneously.

It avers that for its clients who prefer autonomous backups, a user-friendly web interface lets end-users browse their backups to download replicated files as an archive or restore from them on demand. CDP backups will be included as an add-on backup service for managed hosting.

"Client data protection is paramount to CWCS, which is why we chose a reputable and demonstrably reliable backup and disaster recovery solution. R1Soft's ongoing technical support is also of great importance, helping CWCS to ensure a smooth backup system implementation and client assistance," said Karl Mendez, Chief Executive Officer of CWCS Managed Hosting.

"As CWCS has found, R1Soft CDP is the answer to any company's remote backup needs. The software is built to be a complete performance and recovery system as it efficiently stores unique disk blocks only once, minimizing storage bandwidth usage," said Domingo Martinez, Global Marketing Manager for R1Soft, a division of BBS Technologies.

Hosting Controller Updates Control Panel 8.12

Hosting Controller Updates Control Panel 8.12
7th September 2011

Launches support for IPv6 and Exchange 2010 SP1 Hosting Switch.

Hosting Controller, a developer of automation solution for shared and enterprise hosting, recently announced that it has launched support for IPv6 and Exchange 2010 SP1 Hosting Switch in its unified control panel. This release is part of HC control panel 8.12 update that supports Exchange 2010 SP1 Hosting Switch and IPv6 on Windows & Linux servers.

The company articulates that Exchange Server 2010 SP1 is the first multi-tenant ready Exchange Server version that enables hosting service providers to create and manage multiple organizations in the same Active Directory forest. Recent release of HC control panel offers comprehensive support for Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP1 Hosting Switch in a shared multi-tenant environment that includes automatic provisioning of new accounts. The solution comes with a comprehensive self-serve portal for end customers.

It mentions that HC can be installed on systems having IPv6 or IPv4 only or as a dual stack for IPv4 and IPv6. HC panel also supports IPv6 addresses for Name based and IP based websites, provisioning of AAAA record in DNS Manager and database connectivity using IPv6. The robust API and flexible architecture allow Hosting Controller automations tools to be deployed with new or existing systems.

"HC8.12 release reflects Hosting Controller's commitment to providing its customers with the tools they need to support complex hosting operations," said Babar Zaman, Vice President of Business Development at Hosting Controller Inc. "Since Exchange 2010 SP1 in hosting mode doesn't allow the usage of the Exchange Management Console (EMC), therefore HC control panel becomes the natural choice of hosted service providers to provision organizations and mailboxes in Exchange 2010 using a special '/hosting' switch in 'Hosting Mode'."

Babar added, "Compatibility with IPv6 networking is mainly a responsibility of software companies, as suggested by American Registry for Internet Numbers that all internet servers shall be ready to serve IPv6-only clients by January 2012. So we have made it possible for our customers to use additional features implemented in IPv6."

Zen Internet Enhances Zen Vault Enterprise for the Channel

Company makes further enhancements to its cloud based online data backup solution.

Zen Internet, an internet service provider, today announced that it has now made further enhancements to its cloud based online data backup solution, Zen Vault Enterprise.

The company articulates that there is a huge cost to the UK economy every year to restore business data that has been lost due to either human error or IT failure. This year there has been severe weather conditions, travel strikes, the financial crisis and now the recent UK riots. Whatever the event it is essential that businesses are prepared with an effective disaster recovery plan in place. Zen Vault Enterprise, the cloud based data backup service designed and built based on feedback from Channel Partners, now has enhanced functionality thanks to a platform upgrade.

According to it, the upgrade widens the market opportunity for Partners by providing compatibility with MS Exchange 2010 and MS SharePoint 2010, together with other core business applications. The Management Console now provides Partners with the ability to segment users into meaningful groups via the use of Collections, and the implementation of de-duplication improves the speed and efficiency of backups. Also, for Partners managing large data sets, there are further improvements to the speed of backups thanks to smarter small file management.

The company explains that Zen Vault Enterprise provides automated offsite backup for any combination of servers, desktops and laptops across a business, automation of the backup process is provided using Attix5 Professional backup and recovery software. Specifically designed for businesses with multiple devices and larger storage requirements, Zen Vault Enterprise enables businesses to efficiently centralize data backup within the company's data centers through the provision of a large allocation of mirrored, UK based SAN storage.

It says that Zen Vault Enterprise also gives IT administrators full visibility and control over the backup process through the use of a centralized management console. The management console enables administrators to monitor the performance of device backups through a single portal therefore reducing the time and effort associated with managing backup processes.

"Continually enhancing our value added services like Zen Vault Enterprise clearly demonstrates our commitment to working with our Partners and expanding our services so we can meet all their requirements. Vault Enterprise was specifically designed as a Partner centric product, it requires minimal start-up investment and allows Partners to easily establish themselves as a provider of online data backup solutions. We will continue to work with Partners who share a desire to provide an excellent end-to-end customer experience and understand the value of offering reliable, award winning products and services," said Andrew Saunders, Head of Product Management and Marketing, Zen Internet.

"We've been offering online data backup in various guises to our customers since 1998 and have long said that tape and alternative means have had their day. We've previously run the service in-house ourselves but due to our close and ever-growing relationship with Zen we're delighted to have them running the back-end for us. The Zen Vault Enterprise product brings Windows 7 compatibility to our portfolio as our existing online data backup product will not be compatible for several months. Zen have a similar focus to ourselves with regards to customer service. Over 95% of our clients are connected to the Internet via a Zen connection or have data housed on our Zen Managed or Dedicated Servers. Migrating our clients' backups to Zen Vault Enterprise is a logical progression for us and provides a really effective solution for our clients," stated Clive Sheppard, Technical Consultant, Synapse UK.
