Company announces a free Web Matrix v2 beta hosting sandbox program to experience the next-generation version of Web Matrix.
DiscountASP.NET, a Windows Hosting provider, today announced a free Web Matrix v2 beta hosting sandbox program for the web developer community to experience the next-generation version of Web Matrix which was first unveiled at the Microsoft //BUILD Conference mid-September 2011.
The company avers that Microsoft Web Matrix is an all-in-one web development tool that allows web developers to easily install open source web applications, or use web templates as a starting point to develop customized web sites. Web Matrix v2 contains enhancements like remote editing, integrated ASP.NET Web Pages package service, enhanced editing capabilities for HTML5, CSS3, jQuery and PHP, integrated color picker, improved database management, and much more.
It says that the free sandbox hosting program is a limited program offered as an open beta on a first come first serve basis. The beta hosting account comes with 50 MB of disk space and 50 MB of SQL Server 2008 R2 database space and 50 MB of MySQL database space. The sandbox site works with a subdomain of DiscountASP.NET. This platform is only intended for testing and should not be used for production purposes. The program ends November 30, 2011. The company adds that interested developers can sign up at http://labs.discountasp.net.
