Enables the company to offer an array of low latency, gigabit-speed networking services to address growing bandwidth and always-on customer demands.
i/o Data Centers, a data center operator and colocation provider, yesterday announced that AboveNet, Inc., a provider of high-bandwidth connectivity solutions, has extended its dedicated fiber network to its New Jersey modular data center. The company claims that the addition of AboveNet at the New Jersey data center will allow it to offer an array of low latency, gigabit-speed networking services to address growing bandwidth and always-on customer demands. It will utilize AboveNet's extensive fiber optic network to provide fully redundant, all fiber access to new and existing customers. AboveNet is already built in to the company's data centers in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona.
It mentions that the company is able to power and globally connect a data center the magnitude of i/o NEW JERSEY in less than 60 days due to its modular data center platform, which includes 100% of the critical infrastructure required for an always-on data center. Engineered from manufactured components and controlled with the i/o OS for seamless integration into the larger enterprise IT stack, its modular data center platform gives customers the ability to rapidly scale their IT operations.
"As the demand for bandwidth and always-on connectivity increases, AboveNet will offer our customers greater diversity, adding to our world-class offering," said i/o President Anthony Wanger. "i/o also provides carrier-neutral colocation. By allowing access to AboveNet's highly optimized fiber optic network, our customers will be able to achieve ultra-low latency while maintaining superior route diversity."
"We work collaboratively with i/o to deliver high performance, high bandwidth connectivity to support its customers' needs to handle data-intensive applications such as multimedia transfers, financial transactions, cloud computing, data replication and disaster recovery," said Bill LaPerch, President and Chief Executive Officer at AboveNet. "This network will allow i/o's customers to have reliable, industry-leading network connectivity."
