Company will be offering premier carrier neutral data center services specializing in cloud computing.
TELEHOUSE America, a provider of carrier-neutral colocation space and services, yesterday announced its continued global expansion into China's South Coast with the TELEHOUSE Hong Kong CCC. Scheduled to begin service in December 2011, this new facility offers premier carrier neutral data center services, specializing in cloud computing. TELEHOUSE Hong Kong CCC will be the 42nd data center in the company's global portfolio, and the third new data center to open this year.
The company mentions that it chose Hong Kong as the location for its first TELEHOUSE Cloud Computing Complex due to its reputation as the 'Network Hub' of Asia. TELEHOUSE Hong Kong CCC offers customers excellent regional access across all Asian territories, including India. Built in the Tseung Kwan O district, TELEHOUSE Hong Kong CCC, a neighbor to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Data Center, offers high connectivity capacity from local cable landing stations.
It avers that the new TELEHOUSE Hong Kong CCC facility meets the 'TELEHOUSE Global Facility and Operations Standards', including the following features:
Located in Tseung Kwan O District, Hong Kong
36,000 square meters of space
N+1 or 2(N+1) infrastructure
24/7 security guards and authorized access
High perimeter walled site, security cameras, IC cards, and an authentication system
English and Cantonese Languages
The company says that the facility is the result of its parent company, KDDI, who made a 50 percent investment in HKCOLO.NET, a data center operator in Hong Kong who will manage TELEHOUSE Hong Kong CCC. The partnership was founded on the mutual need for new data center space in this densely populated, high demand region.
"This premier facility in Hong Kong will be the first TELEHOUSE data center to target the cloud computing industry," stated Noriyuki Kita, Executive Vice President of TELEHOUSE America. "TELEHOUSE seeks to meet marketplace demands, which in this case, targets the popularity and accelerated growth of cloud computing due to its reduced costs and capacity to meet the demands of businesses of all sizes. TELEHOUSE has responded directly to increasing demand in the Asian market from corporations moving their businesses' IT needs to cloud platforms with a trusted, experienced global carrier-neutral colocation provider."
