Cloud.com Joins the NetApp Alliance Partner Program

As part of this collaboration, CloudStack seamlessly integrates with NetApp storage systems and simplifies how customers can build, deploy and manage cloud environments.

Cloud.com, a developer of cloud infrastructure management software, yesterday announced that it has joined the NetApp Alliance Partner Program. As part of this collaboration, Cloud.com CloudStack, an innovative Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform, seamlessly integrates with NetApp storage systems and simplifies how customers can build, deploy and manage public and private cloud environments, for improved IT flexibility and efficiency.

The company articulates that this integration with NetApp gives it the ability to directly integrate with the NetApp OnCommand management software to help automate provisioning volumes on the storage system, create Logical Unit Numbers (LUNs) of administrator-specified sizes, and perform LUN masking. It has also integrated, tested, and validated CloudStack with NetApp unified storage systems, allowing customers to continue to use the NetApp Data ONTAP platform, which effectively creates and manages storage pools and devices requiring ever-increasing capacity and bandwidth. Whether organizations are running private or public clouds, the CloudStack and NetApp collaboration provides a turnkey cloud infrastructure software stack for delivering all of the essential components used to build, deploy and manage any cloud environment.

It states that recognizing that organizations currently face a daunting task when trying to build their own IaaS cloud environment, the company provides service providers with the fastest path to delivering their own cloud services by providing the latest and the most advanced software platform for building highly scalable, highly reliable cloud computing environments. It currently enables over 50 large-scale production clouds in deployment that have been built on its market-leading open source cloud computing solution including KT, Tata Communications, Nokia Research Center, GreenQloud and Profitability.net. The company's technologies can be deployed on-premise or as hosted cloud services.

"Data center infrastructure is facing a number of challenges as enterprises increasingly move to deploying on-premise clouds, making it even more important for leading companies like Cloud.com and NetApp to partner," said Peder Ulander, Chief Marketing Offer at Cloud.com. "By leveraging NetApp OnCommand management software, cloud architects can empower their users with self-service automation while improving storage and service efficiency through functions that help users control, automate, and analyze their secure, multi-tenant NetApp storage infrastructure."

"The NetApp Alliance Partner Program helps bring together solution providers that have a shared vision of helping customers get the most business value from their IT investments," said Patrick Rogers, Vice President of Corporate Alliances at NetApp. "Cloud.com's membership in the NetApp Alliance Partner Program will help our customers achieve a faster time-to-market and improve IT flexibility and efficiency by combining leading cloud and storage infrastructure technology."
